Betrayal

Cold, hard, fast,
Like a slap in the face.
It slides up, acting all nice,
Pretending to be a friend,
While all the time
Plotting and scheming to betray, to fool.
A warm phone call, a cozy letter...
Actually just a game, a fling.
You mean nothing.
On the outside: sweet, caring;
On the inside: frosty, calculating.
You are just a playtoy,
A slave to his beck-and-call.
Oh, it seems harmless and fun,
But beware of things unseen.
When he needs you and wants you,
You are there.
But where is he
When you come calling?
You are simply there for amusement.
And when you don't even realize it,
That is the worst betrayal.
